Pole dancing is fast becoming one of the most popular ways to get fit and stay in shape! Although once only associated with strip clubs it is now recognised for its huge advantages in the health and leisure industry and as a fitness class has absolutely nothing to do with stripping!
We are often asked the following questions by most people, like you, considering Pole Fitness for the first time!
 
 

What is involved?

All classes are started with a warm up, this is to prepare the muscles and joints for exercise. Then we will begin some pole work! I will demonstrate some spins, tricks and transitions and guide you through them. You will be given some time to practice! We will also do some floor work and may work on routines too!
Then to finish of we will do a cool down and stretch!
What would I need to wear?
We recommend you wearing shorts if you feel comfortable to do so, I think its good to get used to the feel of the pole on the skin as early as possible. but, if you would prefer, by all means you can wear leggings or jogging bottoms I would prefer you to be happy!!
On top a comfy t-shirt/vest top will be fine!

I’m not sure, I think I’m too old/unfit/over weight?

Anyone can do it!
Come along to an Ascent-trix class and you will see people from all walks of life, all ages (16+), abilities, sizes, shapes and fitness levels and both men and women! It just takes a little bit of patience and a lot of fun!
You do not need to a have a certain fitness level or any co-ordination before being able to take part, it actually come with it!
Lots of ladies think that having no upper body strength means they will not be able to do it! But it just builds gradually and comes with time! I honestly believe if you enjoy it (that’s what its all about) then you will pick it up!
Our classes are mixed ability so whether you have lots and lots of pole experience or are a complete beginner Ascent-trix classes can cater for everyone and you will find pole buddies of the same/similar abilities!!
